Banned films around the world

Meet Martin, the star of "Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence" who is supposed to rule your nightmares and ruin your lunch. The film was so graphic -- and if you read the descriptions online, you'll know why -- that it was banned from release in the U.K. "Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence" wasn't the first film to not be allowed to screen in a country. Here's some more films that you may or may not have seen.

"Birth of a Nation"

"Birth of A Nation" is studied in film schools for it's innovative filmmaking techniques for the time, but is more known for it's controversial, racist overtones that include everything from actors in blackface to portraying African Americans as evil creatures.

"Scarface"

Five states and five additional cities couldn't say hello to his little friend because of glorified depictions of violence.

"Life of Brian"

Some small towns banned this film because of it's supposed "anti-Christian" views. I guess they couldn't look at the bright side of life.

"Rambo: First Blood Part II" was banned in Vietnam. They had seen enough with "Part I."

"Battleship Potemkin"

"Battleship Potemkin" was banned in the U.K. until after Joseph Stalin's death. Now, it's regarded as a film classic.

"Saw VI"

The torture porn horror film was banned from Trinidad and Tobego to Thailand. If you've seen any of the previous "Saw" films, you know exactly why.

"Cannibal Holocaust"

Ruggero Deodato's horror film was so realistic he had to show up with the actors from the film to prove they didn't actually die. The film was banned in Italy, the U.K., Australia, among other countries for its graphic depiction of sexuality and violence. It remains a cult classic today.

"I Spit on Your Grave"

Though the original film made it, the 2010 remake of "I Spit on Your Grave" was banned in Ireland.

"South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut"

"South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut" was banned in Iraq, as well as the show, for it's depictions of Saddam Hussein.

"Pink Flamingos"

John Water's film was only allowed released in Canada if it was heavily edited, plus fully banned in the province of Nova Scotia until 1997.

"A Serbian Film"

The 2010 film is widely considered to be one of the most graphic films of all time. It's no surprise that it was banned in Norway and given an adults only screening at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain -- and subsequently the festival's director was sued for showing child pornography.
