Stunning color from Istanbul's rising Instagram star
With building block-like geometry and wild color, Yener Torun's photographs of Turkey's contemporary architecture have earned him a huge following on Instagram.
Torun, 32, is an Istanbul-based architect with little formal training in photography, but a sharp eye for composition: "in time I built my own style with the positive reception of my followers and focused on Turkey and especially on Istanbul".

As an architect, he's aware of major construction projects in Istanbul, but often good shots are found simply wandering developing neighborhoods until a surface catches his eye.He admits the photos are not representative of all new construction in Turkey: "It is not easy to find them because there are at least 100 grey buildings for a colorful one."
