Andre Braugher, nominated for his work in "Thief," has won an Emmy before. Here, he holds his trophy at the 50th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Sept. 13, 1998, having won that year for his work as Frank Pembleton in "Homicide: Life On The Street." (The year before, he was named among People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.)
Andre Braugher, Joan Allen and a friend attended a screening of "It's the Rage Cinemax" in New York on April 24, 2000. Braugher has some pretty impressive academic credentials. He's a graduate of Stanford University and holds a master's degree in fine arts from The Juilliard School.
Andre Braugher served as a presenter at the 53rd Annual Prime-Time Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Nov. 4, 2001, a somber occasion that was postponed that year because of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93.
Andre Braugher talked to the press about "10,000 Black Men Named George," a made-for-cable movie in which he starred and also served as executive producer, Jan. 18, 2002, in Los Angeles. In the movie, Braugher played Asa Philip Randolph, who, in the 1920s, tried to unionize the black porters of the Pullman Rail Company.
Andre Braugher attends the premiere screening for "Thief" on March 21, 2006, in West Hollywood, Calif. Born in Chicago on July 1, 1962, he played the title role in Shakespeare's "Henry V" during the 1996 Shakespeare in the Park Festival in New York.
Here is another shot of Andre Braugher, with co-star Mae Whitman, at the premiere screening of "Thief" on March 21, 2006, in West Hollywood, Calif. Whitman plays his step-daughter in the show. In real life, Braugher and his wife, Ami Brabson, have two sons.
Andre Braugher attends the "Poseidon" premiere at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City on May 6, 2006. In the remake of 1972's "The Poseidon Adventure," Braugher had the dubious honor of playing the captain of a ship that turns upside-down.
