African lions: Up close and personal

Lions are some of the most majestic creatures in the animal kingdom. They have also been notoriously difficult to capture on film -- until now.

Photographers Michael Nichols and Nathan Williamson spent nearly a year living among the lions of the Serengeti, documenting the incredible animals with new technology that allowed them to get closer than ever.

Nichols and Williamson utilized a battery operated helicopter and a state of the art robot to carry their cameras inches away from the lions.
