The latest shooting statistics show there have been 321 homicides in New York City this year. At this point last year, 309 people had been killed by gun violence.
There was no immediate word on what led to the shooting.
The officers had just finished their shifts at the 46th Precinct when they saw an argument around the corner and tried to prevent it from escalating, police said.
