New York Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh is wrapping up her last day on the job.
We've learned FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh's last day will be Aug. 7. She had previously announced plans to step down as head of the department, but she didn't give a departure date.
Kavanagh told the mayor's office it was time for her to move on, but she will stay on until a new FDNY commissioner is ready to take the reins.
