The incident began when NYPD responded to reports of shots fired on Thomas S. Boyland St. near Linden Blvd. in Brownsville.
The victim's mother said her son's friend threw a rock at a car. Two men then got out of the car and allegedly chased the boys down.
The attack happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on Cozine Avenue and Jerome Street in East New York. The teen is in stable condition and no arrests have been made. CBS News New York's Allen Devlin reports.
