Yonkers Blocks Parking Lot Conversion With Ban On Heliports
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The skies may be friendly, but for tourist helicopters the ground in Yonkers is not.
The Yonkers City Council has passed a ban on heliports to block a sightseeing company from converting a bus parking lot.
The company has been in search of space because New York City is chopping the number of tours allowed.
Residents in Yonkers were worried about potential noise and pollution.
