Yankees Sign RHP Nelson Figueroa To Minor-League Deal
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Yankees have signed right-hander Nelson Figueroa to a minor-league deal, according to WFAN and CBSSports.com baseball insider Jon Heyman.
The majority of Figueroa's 145 career appearances (80) have come out of the bullpen, though he has started in at least three games during each of his nine major-league seasons.
Figueroa, a Brooklyn native, has spent time with Arizona, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, the New York Mets and Houston since his debut in 2000. He went 0-3 with an 8.69 ERA in eight games (five starts) with the Astros last season.
The 37-year-old journeyman owns a career 4.55 ERA with a record of 20-35.
