Yankees postpone home opener against Red Sox due to rain
NEW YORK -- Opening Day will have to wait a little bit longer.
The Yankees announced Wednesday their home opener against the Boston Red Sox has been rescheduled because of rain.
The game was originally set for Thursday but will now be played Friday, with first pitch at 1:05 p.m.
The Minnesota Twins also rescheduled their home opener against the Seattle Mariners because of blustery weather conditions.
