"When the Dodgers were in the World Series in 1959 with the White Sox I was home with the mumps and my dad made me keep score and that's how I became a Dodgers fan," one man told 1010 WINS' John Montone. "That's the best part of baseball, is remembering the past and then looking forward."
For many, this weekend is a harbinger of things to come.
"I'm looking forward to getting out to a game and having a hot dog with my son," another man said. "He's 9-years-old, I grew up as a Met fan, for some reason he's a Yankee fan…maybe because they win."

Something is missing in Yankees camp this year.
After starting with the organization in 1991, Jorge Posada has retired.
Posada's best bud, Derek Jeter, is going to miss him.
"You know, you really didn't see one of us without the other, especially on the road there. So, it's going to be kind of an awkward situation," said Jeter, the team's captain.
Jeter remembers when they first started playing together.
"What struck me about him? His intensity. He's very intense. He expected a lot from himself. We're similar in that sense. He shows his emotion a little bit more than I do," said Jeter.
The Yankees will have their full squad workout next Saturday.
They open the regular season at the Rays on April 6.
Mets pitchers and catchers will report on Tuesday.
