Yankees Announce Lineup For 66th Old Timers' Day
NEW YORK (WFAN) - The New York Yankees have announced that nearly 50 former Yankees will attend the 66th annual Old Timers' Day at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, July 1st. The YES Network will air the ceremonies, which are scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m., as well as the Old Timers' Game which is set to follow. The Yankees will then host the Chicago White Sox at 2:05 p.m. Ticket-holding guests will be allowed to enter the stadium at 10 a.m.
Highlighting the Old-Timers roster are Hall of Famers Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Rich "Goose" Gossage, Ricky Henderson, and Reggie Jackson. YES broadcasters David Cone, Lou Piniella and Paul O'Neill will be joining the other former Yankees on the roster.
Former managers, Joe Torre and current Special Assistant to the GM, Stump Merrill, will also highlight the lineup. This will mark Merrill's first Old Timers' Day. Former trainer Gene Monohan is attending his first Old Timers' Day as well. Monohan retired last year after 49 years with the Yankees organization.
