Yankee Stadium Hosts Beatles Star And Music Legend Paul McCartney
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Sir Paul McCartney kicked off his first series of concerts at the new Yankee stadium Friday. It is the start of his "On The Run" tour, which will also hit Detroit, Chicago and Cincinnati.

Terry Sheridan of 1010 WINS reported that there was mixed crowd featuring people in their 50's and 60's with adult children and in some cases grandkids.
"He could sing the alphabet and I would be happy," said one fan.
McCartney is no stranger to the Big Apple. He first performed at Shea Stadium in 1965 (he returned in 2008). The former Beatle was also a part of the Oct. 2001 Concert for New York City at Madison Square Garden, and hit the stage at Radio City Music Hall also in 2009.

McCartney is also performing at the home of the Bombers at 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are still available for both shows.
The Yankees return to host the Oakland A's on Friday, July 22.
Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax will be performing as The Big 4 at the stadium on Wednesday, September 14 at 4:00 p.m.
