Workers On Long Island Rally For Higher Minimum Wage
EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Fast food workers continue to rally for a boost in the minimum wage.

Workers On Long Island Rally For Higher Minimum Wage
They are hoping the wage is raised to $15 an hour.
"If you're a minimum wage worker you make about $1,200 a month," said Blanca Villanueva. "That's rent alone in a lot of places here on Long Island, let alone if you have car payments, car insurance, and things come up and you have to eat."
The rally comes as the governor is set to conduct a series of public hearings across the state on the minimum wage issue.
"It's definitely the right thing to do, it's the moral thing to do," said advocate Lisa Tyson.
