Workers Honor Colleagues Lost On 9/11 With Special Project For Military Kids
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - If Pier 86 on Manhattan's West Side looks like a construction site today, there's a very good reason for it.

Hundreds of employees from corporations which lost workers on 9/11 are going to make Pier 86 next to the Intrepid look a lot like Santa's workshop.
They're assembling bicycles in the name of their fallen fellow workers, to be given to kids 12 and under, gifts to children of parents serving in the military.
"[There will] be workstations where all of these wonderful people - 450 - are going to have a workstation assigned to them. You have to put the wheels on. You put the train on. You have to put the handlebar on. Quality control," organizer Lee Ielpi of the 9/11 Tribute Center told WCBS 880 reporter Rich Lamb.
He lost his firefighter son Jonathan on September 11, 2001 and calls this something beautiful coming out of that terrible day.
