Worker Struck And Killed On Grand Central Parkway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A highway worker was struck and killed on the Grand Central Parkway Tuesday morning.
Police say the incident took place at around 11 a.m. near Jewel Avenue.
Police say a 26-year-old man was driving an Audi and struck a man in his 50s, an employee of College Point-based Welsbach Electric Corp., who was laying cones down in the left lane.

The worker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Audi has been taken into custody and is facing charges of driving while intoxicated, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
"We had an individual who we tested for alcohol and was determined to be drunk, driving that car that hit a worker that was under contract for the Department of Transportation to do electrical work on the road," NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told WCBS 880.
Additional charges are possible.
