Woman Reported In 'Extremely Critical Condition' After Queens Hit-And-Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman was left in critical condition Sunday afternoon after a minivan struck her in Queens.
The woman, who was in her 60s, was struck around 3 p.m. at Junction Boulevard and 50th Avenue in the Corona section of Queens, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.
Witnesses said a green minivan hit the woman, and a man in a nearby deli ran out and chased the van. But he could not catch the driver, witnesses said.

"I just ran out to him and I kind of lost him," the man said.
The man said he gave police a description of the van, and police have been reviewing surveillance video of the accident.
Witnesses described the driver as "cowardly."
The woman was taken to an area hospital in extremely critical condition, EMS officials told 1010 WINS.
This was at least the second serious hit-and-run incident in the five boroughs Sunday. An earlier incident left a woman dead in the Bronx.
Maria Dulce-Valencia, 27, of the Bronx – whose name has also been provided as Dulce Maria Valencia — was struck and killed just after 5 a.m. at the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard in Soundview, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the woman unconscious and unresponsive lying in the street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members and neighbors claimed Valencia and a friend were walking home from a party at a relative's house when Valencia was struck.
