Woman Hit, Killed By Vehicle In Brooklyn Heights
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 48-year-old woman is dead, after being struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn Heights.
Martha Atwater was at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Clinton Street, when she was struck by a vehicle around 5:40 p.m. Friday, police said.
Police later learned that a 53-year-old man was driving a black 2011 Honda Ridgeline north on Clinton Street, when he lost control and struck Atwater in front of the building at 200 Clinton St.
Atwater was taken to Long Island College Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, and criminality is not suspected, police said.
