Authorities: Woman Struck And Killed By PATH Train In Manhattan
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- PATH trains are running again after service was suspended when a woman was struck and killed by a train in Manhattan.
A Port Authority spokesman said that it was unclear how the mishap occurred at around 1 p.m. Saturday at the 14th Street station.
According to officials, the woman was conscious when she was taken to the hospital. She was later pronounced dead.
Her name was not immediately released. Police are investigating how the woman ended up on the tracks.
Service between Journal Square and 33rd Street via Hoboken was suspended during the investigation but resumed by 6 p.m. Saturday. Service continued on the Newark to World Trade Center line and between Journal Square and Hoboken.
