Woman Arrested After Mini-Bus, SUV Collide On Long Island
ISLIP TERRACE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman was allegedly high on drugs when she crashed her Jeep into a mini-bus carrying two disabled children Wednesday, police said.
Tyajia Anthony, 29, was driving a 1996 Jeep when the vehicle crossed over the double yellow line on Connetquot Avenue and hit the mini-bus head on near Ridge Avenue in Central Islip around 8 a.m., police said. Both vehicles then caught fire.
The bus driver and a good Samaritan helped the children escape before both vehicles burst into flames, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

The bus driver and two aides suffered minor injuries. Two wheelchair-bound 5-year-old boys who were on the bus did not appear to be injured, police said.
All five were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore as a precaution.
Anthony was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
The accident is still under investigation.
