Woman Accused Of Robbing L.I. Pharmacy For Narcotics
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A woman has been arrested and charged with robbing a pharmacy on Long Island.
Tina Alfani, 55, allegedly walked into the Stat Script Pharmacy, at 1800 New York Ave. in Huntington Station on Friday, and passed a note to the pharmacy counter demanding narcotic drugs, Suffolk County police said.
The pharmacist handed over drugs, and Alfani fled on foot, police said.
Soon afterward, officers found Alfani in Huntington Station and arrested her, police said. She was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.
Alfani appeared in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip for an arraignment Saturday, and pleaded not guilty, according to a Newsday report. Her bail was set at $21,000, the newspaper reported.
The investigation into the alleged theft continued Saturday. Police asked anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at (631) 854-8252, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
