Woman Accused Of Attacking Elderly Man At Port Authority Bus Terminal
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Port Authority police arrested a woman for allegedly assaulting an 80-year-old man who was waiting for his wife to use the restroom at the Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square.
Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said two officers arrested Danika Riley after they noticed her kicking the elderly man Saturday morning on the second floor of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Pentangelo said the officers pulled the 40-year-old off the West New York, N.J., man, who was treated at the scene for head and upper body injuries.
Riley was charged with felony assault and drug possession.
Police told CBS 2 they found a crack pipe after searching Riley.
Court records show Riley has an extensive criminal history, including a 1994 charge for escaping a penitentiary in Oklahoma.
