WLNY To Broadcast "121212" Concert To Benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims
WLNY-TV 10/55 will simulcast "12-12-12″, a fundraising concert to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy, on Wednesday, December 12th at Madison Square Garden. The concert which begins at 7:30 p.m. will feature Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who, and Paul McCartney.
Celebrity presenters announced today include: Steve Buscemi, Jessica Chastain, Chelsea Clinton, Sean Combs, Billy Crystal, Leo DiCaprio, Jimmy Fallon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Karlie Kloss, Seth Meyers, Bobby Moynihan, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Susan Sarandon, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Quentin Tarantino, and Brian Williams.

The proceeds will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund. Robin Hood, the largest independent poverty fighting organization in the New York area, says that every cent raised will go to non-profit groups that are helping the tens of thousands of people throughout the tri-state area who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. The Madison Square Garden show sold out almost immediately when tickets went on sale on Monday, leaving fans looking to the secondary market for tickets. That led to sky high tickets being sold by scalpers.
That led New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to call on StubHub to make clear to consumers how the purchasing of tickets will benefit charities.

Hearing reports of online ticket resale prices soaring up to $60,000 has angered David Saltzman, Executive Director of the Robin Hood Foundation.
"We think it's despicable," he told WCBS 880's Jim Smith on Friday.
He said the message is simple. "We encourage everybody to stay away from scalped tickets. Please," he said.
All 13,500 tickets for the concert are sold out.
Producer Harvey Weinstein also warned that resold tickets could be a scam. "A lot of people who claim they have tickets actually don't. There are counterfeit tickets," he said.
Organizers say the best thing to do is watch from home. pick up the phone and make a generous donation to the victims of superstorm Sandy.
You can also see the concert free live in several movie theaters in the area. Free tickets are already available on a first come, first served basis. On the night of the concert, doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and the presentation will run until approximately 12:30 a.m..
