Wireless Internet Hotspots Coming To NYC Payphone Kiosks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- City payphones are getting a new lease on life.

Some of the city's 12,400 payphone kiosks are going to be wired with wireless Internet as part of a pilot program that will eventually expand to all five boroughs.

Ten locations will be hooked up to start.

The program is part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's NYC Digital Initiative.
