Wintry Mix Makes For Wet, Slippery Morning Commute Across The Tri-State
KATONAH, NY (CBSNewYork/AP) -- It was a wet and slippery commute Tuesday morning for many drivers across the Tri-State after a night of freezing rain left roads covered in snow and slush.

One of the worst hit spots was in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx where a seven car pileup created a busy night for emergency workers at West 228th Street.

In Brooklyn, a collision involving a car and a garbage truck sent the truck through the front of a store on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. No one was hurt.
The quick blast of winter left roads in Westchester County with a slippery coating. Drivers dealing with snow for the first time since October were cautious as they hit the roads for the morning rush.
"Little slippery, but manageable," said Darren Rillinger from Armonk.
Overnight along I-684, there were reports of several accidents as drivers lost control on slick patches, spinning off the roads and into railings.

Plow drivers worked furiously throughout the night to keep the roads clear, saying the toughest part of the storm was just before dawn.
"When it refroze between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.," said plow driver Tom MacInnes.
In New Jersey, Transportation Department trucks spent the morning spreading ice melt on the major highways.
In Connecticut, State Police say motorists were involved in nearly 150 accidents due to early morning rain and snow.
State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance says about a dozen injuries were reported, but none was serious. No fatalities were reported.
Tractor-trailer accidents occurred on several highways, causing delays.
