Winter Jam Coming To Central Park This Weekend
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Last year, the annual Winter Jam event was canceled because conditions were too warm.
For better or for worse, New York does not have that problem this year. And while walking around outside may be harrowing, Winter Jam will be on this weekend in Central Park.

As 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported, halfway between the Bandshell and Sheep Meadow, organizers have set up a snow field. Eight-foot-high drifts were waiting for skis or a tube.
The event may not be for everyone.
"If children love it, then sure, I'm all for it. I'm not going to be out there," said one woman, Mary. "I'm from Florida."
But while Mary won't be there, many will. Bryant Urbano is manning the snow guns that have turned a portion of park into a winter wonderland.
"That's going to be there for a while. I guess they're going to push it around, and you guys are going to have your winter festival," he said.
In some spots, the snow will be as deep as eight feet. An organizer said 35,000 square feet will be covered in snow.
And not all the snow will be shot from snow guns. Up to 6 inches of snow are expected to fall on the city beginning late Friday.
Winter Jam is set for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing lessons, Quidditch lessons, animal tracking with the Urban Park Rangers, a Pride of New York Winter Market, and even a special Doggie Snow Zone.
Participants should enter Central Park at 72nd Street.
