Windy, Dry Conditions Spur Red Flag Warning For Tri-State Area
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Dry and windy conditions have prompted a red flag warning for wildfires across the entire Tri-State area.
The warning is in effect through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The National Weather Service said gusty winds, along with humidity levels as low as 20 percent, mean there is a "great potential'' for wildfires in the area through the day. There is also the possibility that any blazes that do start could easily spread and become difficult to extinguish.
