Williamsburg Store Owners Say L Train Service Interruption Will Hurt Business
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The shop owners in Williamsburg are really worried.
They say all of the tourists in Manhattan take the L train to Williamsburg to shop.
Some business owners are worried that they won't be able to survive an L train closure.
Weekend service between Lorimer Street and Manhattan will be down until May 18.

"I'm backpedaling to a few years ago, some businesses suffered so much from the L train closure that they actually did close," Lexi, who owns Antoinette a vintage clothing store, said.
The shop keepers say they have spoken with the MTA and local politicians but to no avail.
"They're not open to any suggestions," one woman told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria.
The MTA said that vital maintenance work must be done. Other options for those wishing to visit Williamsburg are the J, M, and Z trains or the ferry.
