White Plains Considering Extending Cutoff Time For Dancing, DJs At Bars
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - The weekend party scene in White Plains might soon have some new rules.
A change in local regulations could impact a number of bars in the area, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reoprted, considering that the city is discussion whether to allow dancing and DJs until 1 a.m.
The current cutoff is midnight, but is not very strictly enforced, Haskell reported.

But business owners, like the manager of Black Bear Saloon, Mark Hadnett, worry that if the new law would be more strictly enforced, it could hurt business.
Hadnett said he's worried about his customers.
"They're going to go somewhere else, they're going to find another town that they can stay out later and party later," he said.
He also said a lot of jobs are on the line.
"All these places do the majority of their business that time of the evening," he said.
"There's no doubt we would not be able to survive. Without a doubt. I mean, we employ about 40 people here along with 10 other places on the strip who probably employ the same," Hadnett said.
The bars can stay open without dancing until 4 a.m.
