What Our 9 Pro Sports Teams Want For Christmas

This year hasn't been particularly kind to franchises in the N.Y.-N.J. area. Every team (in the four major sports) has something (in certain cases, multiple things) they'd like from Santa.
MORE: 8 MIRACULOUS MOMENTS IN SPORTS
Here's the complete wish list:
1. Mets -- A Quality Shortstop
No offense to Wilmer Flores, but if the Amazin's are serious about contending for the postseason, they need someone better at the position.
2. Yankees -- A Closer
Who will step up, if anyone? Will the Bombers have to look outside the organization? Time will tell.
3. Jets -- A Franchise Quarterback
They don't grow on trees, but evidently, they don't grow anywhere near Florham Park either.
4. Giants -- A Health Pack
You know, the ones you find in video games. With all those injuries, I'll bet Big Blue wishes these existed.
5. Knicks -- A Time Machine
With a time machine, the Knicks could travel to 2016, the year LeBron James will almost certainly turn them down again. Or to any other year. Seriously, any other season of Knicks' basketball is probably better than the current edition.
6. Nets -- A Healthy, Effective Brook Lopez
There are more issues surrounding this team, but if Lopez can get past his injuries and find his A-game, it's a start.
7. Rangers -- A First-Line Center
Derick Brassard has performed admirably, as has Derek Stepan, but neither are legitimate first-line centers. The Rangers have won six in a row, but they are not without their flaws. This is still a pretty significant one, even if recent events don't show it.
8. Islanders -- A Scoring Winger For Tavares & Okposo
The solution could very well come from within. If not, GM Garth Snow may need to pull the trigger on a deal for a winger.
9. Devils -- A Franchise Player
Maybe Cory Schneider will turn out to be the next great goaltender in New Jersey, perhaps Adam Larsson will live up to the hype that surrounded him on draft day. For now, the departure of Martin Brodeur has left the Devils without a poster boy.
