Wet Weather Gone But Wind, Flooding And Outages Remain
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There is flooding and power outages in parts of the Tri-State after heavy rain and some snow moved through the area Wednesday night.

The rain made a mess of a number of roads, including the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester where one driver was forced to climb out of his car window when his car got stuck in deep water.
On Long Island, strong winds brought down trees and power lines. At one point, more than 8,000 LIPA customers lost electricity, mostly in Suffolk County.

Also in Suffolk County, a falling tree damaged a LIRR gate near the Deer Park station. The tree blocked the road and police were on the scene to keep drivers away until it could be cleared.
A wind advisory is in effect for Suffolk and Nassau counties.

In New Jersey, flooding was a problem in Union County where more than two inches of rain fell in the last 24 hours.
The National Weather Service also said that about an inch of snow fell in Sussex County.
There are flood warnings in effect for rivers and streams in northeast New Jersey as well as the Millstone River at Blackwells Mills, the Ramapo River in Mahwah and the Saddle River in Lodi.
In Connecticut, about 21,500 Connecticut Light & Power customers lost power overnight, mostly in eastern and southeast Connecticut.
A wind advisory and flood watch are also in effect for parts of Conn.
