Westchester Cops Seize 120 Pounds Of Pot At Checkpoint
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A sobriety check point on the Bronx River Parkway in Greenburgh not only netted a driver cops say was high, but it also led to discovery of 120 pounds of marijuana in the man's car.
22-year-old Damion Reid from Dorchester, Massachusetts, was arrested following the stop, WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reported.
"This guy was traveling from Brooklyn, New York up to Massachusetts using the Bronx River Parkway and fortunately ran into one of our officers," Westchester County Police Captain Thomas Gleason told WCBS 880.

Gleason said the drugs were worth quite a large sum of money.
"The street value of this is approximately $300,000. We're figuring about $2,500 a pound," Gleason said.
Police said Reid's 2004 Toyota Corolla was stopped after police noticed his bloodshot eyes and extreme nervousness.
Authorities said it was likely that Reid was a drug runner, who purchased the drugs in New York City and was transporting them back to Massachusetts to sell.
