Westchester Co. Crime Stoppers Offering Reward In Shooting Death Of Innocent Bystander
MOUNT VERNON, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Mount Vernon are hoping a reward will help investigators find a suspect who shot and killed and innocent bystander back in August.

On August 8, police say 27-year-old Gloria Nartey was killed when she was caught in the crossfire of a shooting as she was walking just a few blocks from her home on South 12 Avenue.
Police Commissioner Carl Bell said it's fear, not apathy that has kept witnesses quiet.
"It's a very close-knit community where everyone knows each other, they know each others' families and they're afraid of they say something they'll be exposing themselves and their families to further danger," said Bell.
Now, Westchester County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the shooter.
"We're just hope that people come forward and we can bring these people to justice," said Bell.
Family members say Nartey had moved to Mount Vernon to escape violence in her Bronx neighborhood.
