Weiner Involved In Fender Bender On FDR
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner was involved in a minor fender bender Saturday morning on the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive.
The accident happened around 8:25 a.m. on the FDR near 96th Street, officials said. One person refused medical treatment, and everyone else was uninjured, officials said.
"This morning, on the FDR drive, there was a chain reaction car accident. All are OK," Weiner spokeswoman Barbara Morgan told 1010 WINS. "Anthony is appreciative to the FDNY and EMS for their quick and expert response."
It was not clear whether Weiner was on his way to the airport for a 50th anniversary commemoration of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom at the time. Weiner did eventually make it to Washington, D.C.
