Weekend Subway Service Changes Make For Commuter Frustration
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Service changes on multiple subway lines might make your weekend commute a little more complicated.
The service changes affect the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, A, C, F, G, J, M, Q and S lines.
Weekend Subway Service Changes Make For Commuter Frustration
Some of the changes include the following:
- Manhattan-bound 1 trains skip 238th, 231st and 225th streets
- No. 4 trains between Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center and Utica Avenue/New Lots Avenue
- No. 7 trains between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street
The subway changes have brought frustration for some commuters – particularly those who were experiencing yet another weekend with no 7 line service between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza.
"It's horrible," said Louis.
But Louis cannot avoid it, because he has to get to work
"I work in the city and I live in Flushing," he said. "So I have to go all way down to take the N train. It totally messes up your whole morning."
But Marie said the inconvenience of the subway repairs will pay off.
"We're investing a few months and then it'll permanently get back. And then it'll be really good," she said.
