Weekend Movie Preview: Sept. 17
NEW YORK -- From horror to comedy to 3D animated fun for the entire family – there's something for almost everyone this weekend at the movies.
The highly-anticipated film from Oscar winner Ben Affleck, "The Town," opens this weekend. Affleck co-wrote the movie, which he also stars in as Doug Macray, a career criminal who made his living alongside three buddies, robbing banks.
But when their latest job goes a bit too far, damage control begins – and so does a romance, between Macray and his former hostage, Rebecca Hall, who is unaware of his day job.
How far will Macray go to make a change and escape his past?
On a lighter note, "Easy A" also makes it way to theaters. Emma Stone stars as Olive, a student who finds high school life getting a lot more interesting after a little white lie leads her to a new reputation - and a life paralleling Hester Prynne's "The Scarlett Letter," which she just so happens to be studying at the time.
Then there's "Devil," about a group of strangers trapped in an elevator, one of them with a very dark side.
And finally, the animated tale "Alpha and Omega," voiced by Justin Long and Hayden Panettiere. It's a family flick about Humphrey and Kate, two polar bears who are polar opposites. But when they wind up in captivity, the hounds have to work together to find a way home.
The film also features t he voice of the late Dennis Hopper.
