Weekend Movie Preview: Nov. 5
NEW YORK (CBS 2 / WCBS 880) -- A busy weekend at the box office has Hollywood hoping for what could be the biggest opening weekend ever in the month of November, as CBS 2's Katie McGee reports.
Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. hit the road in Due Date. Downey Jr. stars as Peter, an expectant father in a bit of a quandary when a minor mishap means he can't fly across the country for the birth of his baby.
Enter Ethan, an aspiring actor who offers to help. The two take off and quickly realize they're about to endure the longest trip of their lives.
Also in theaters is For Colored Girls. Based on the award-winning play, the film features an all-star cast. The movie chronicles the lives of 9 women and their intertwining stories.
Will Ferrell is back at the box office this weekend, lending his voice to the title character in the movie "Megamind."
Brad Pitt voices the role of his arch nemesis, Metro Man, who has squashed Megamind's repeated –and failed – attempts to take over Metro City. But when Metro Man is out of the game and a new bad guy arrives, it's up to Megamind to save the day.
Out in limited release is Fair Game, based on the true story of outed secret agent Valerie Plame. The film stars Naomi Watts and Sean Penn.
Also in select theaters is the documentary Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer.
