Giants' Weatherford On Tim Tebow: I Wouldn't Want Him On My Team
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- What exactly are the Philadelphia Eagles doing at quarterback? Everyone is trying to figure it out -- even their rivals.
New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford indicated last week on WFAN radio that he'd give the job to ex-Jet Mark Sanchez, who he compared to a luxury sedan. But that's only because he thinks little of polarizing backup Tim Tebow's skills, and Philly's other alternative is the oft-injured Sam Bradford.
"I'm the biggest Tim Tebow fan in the world. I mean, who wouldn't want their daughter to date a guy like that? I'll tell you what, I don't want him taking snaps for my team," Weatherford told co-hosts Joe Benigno and Marc Malusis.

Here's what Weatherford had to say about the Sanchez vs. Bradford dynamic:
-- On Sanchez: "He's gonna give you more consistency. ... OK, I'm gonna give you a Ferrari that maybe won't be running all the time, or you know what, I'm gonna give you a nice Cadillac sedan. It's not the fastest, but you know what you're going to get out of it. Mark Sanchez is a Cadillac. He's not super fast, he's not going to stop on a dime, you know what you're going to get out of him."
-- On Bradford: "Bradford can go from zero to 60 in three seconds, but you don't know if he's gonna start up some days. So it's gotta be frustrating for them. And I've heard rumors that they're trying to get an extension done with Bradford. I'm like, good like with that."
Weatherford believes Eagles head coach Chip Kelly could be digging his own grave with Bradford, especially if the QB fails to produce on a potential new deal.
"They've given him enough slack for him to hang himself," Weatherford said of Kelly.
Eagles center Jason Kelce took exception, tweeting on Monday: "Of course a player who is literally not allowed to be touched is talking s---... Is interviewing punters a thing now?"
The Giants and Eagles will face off in prime time Oct. 19 at Philadelphia. Their second matchup will be the Jan. 3 season finale at MetLife Stadium.
