WCBS-TV News Team Makes Strong Show At New York Emmy Awards
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The 54th Annual New York Emmy Awards were held in Midtown Sunday night, where the best in local broadcasting were honored for their achievements over the last year.
WCBS-TV took home two awards for their winter weather coverage in 2010, as well as awards in the category of feature production and journalistic enterprise.
The CBS 2 team was honored for their March 15, 2010 winter weather coverage, featuring anchors Kristine Johnson and Chris Wragge, as well as meteorologist Lonnie Quinn. The same storm team dominated the Spot News Story category, taking home an award for Eye On The Storm: The Big Nor'easter coverage from March 16, 2010.
Additionally, Quinn was named Top Weather Anchor and Wragge was honored as Top News Anchor and Live Reporter.
CBS 2 anchor and reporter Mary Calvi took home the pirze for best in Journalistic Enterprise.
The award show will be broadcast on local television on Sunday, April 10 at 9 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 17th at 1 p.m.
