Truex spoke with WCBS 880's Wayne Cabot and said he's touched by the honor.
"Every time I go home, I drive down that road just so I can see my name on the street. It's pretty awesome," Truex told Cabot.
Truex also said he'd like to see a NASCAR track come to South Jersey.
"We've got the road-course racing, now we just need a big oval there," Truex told Cabot.
In the meantime, Truex remains in the chase for the Sprint Cup title and told Cabot he feels good about his team's chances.
"We've had such a great season that it's cool to be able to clinch the Chase spot this past weekend and make sure we're in that deal. And with the way we're running, I feel like we can go out there and contend for the championship," Truex said.
