Wayne Man Rediscovers Rare Marilyn Monroe Photos He Bought At Garage Sale

WAYNE, N.J. (WCBS 880/AP) -- A New Jersey man could make some serious money from auctioning off some apparently rare photos of Marilyn Monroe that he's discovered twice.

Anton Fury said he bought an envelope of negatives for $2 at a garage sale. "I found these negatives about 30 years ago at a garage sale somewhere in northern New Jersey," Fury said.

He realized he had about 30 pictures of Monroe and over 70 of Jayne Mansfield but didn't do anything with the images.

Fury rediscovered them earlier this year after a flood at his Wayne studio forced him to clean up.

He's taken them to an appraiser in Beverly Hills, who wants to know more about who took them before putting a value on the photos. They're believed to be from the early 1950s.

Fury plans to sell them at an auction.
