Water Main Break Shuts Down Street In Kips Bay
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A water main break shut down a section of 26th Street in Kips Bay Sunday.
The 36-inch water main burst under the road at 23rd Street and Lexington Avenue late Saturday, 1010 WINS reported.
Crews were already present at the time the pipe burst, investigating reports of a preexisting leak, 1010 WINS reported.
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection told 1010 WINS the repairs would last all day Sunday.
Department officials did not know what caused the pipe to rupture.
