WATCH: NYPD Saves Cat Stuck In Tree In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- NYPD officers took time out of their day to save a cat that was stuck up in a tree in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.
Kim Berzac heard the cat meowing while walking by Vernon and Stuyvesant avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
She then flagged down some police officers on the street.
Using a ladder and a special pole, they fished the kitten out of the tree.
The rescue took about two hours.
Berzac decided to take the cat home.
"It was really sad. I heard it was there since last night," Berzac said. "I wasn't going to leave until she came down. Looks like I have a little kitten now."
She named the cat Red and already has two other cats.
