WATCH: Jeremy Lin Skypes With Once-Heartbroken Young Knicks Fan
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Many fans were upset when the Knicks decided not to match Houston's offer to Jeremy Lin.
But for 5-year-old Naim, it was pure heartbreak.
A video of the inconsolable young Knicks fan reached thousands of viewers on YouTube, including Lin himself, who later connected with Naim for the chat of a lifetime.
That too was captured and uploaded to YouTube.
"Jeremy was so touched by the original video that he decided to reach out to us and offer a skype virtual meet with Naim," the video's description read.
In the original clip, the pouting tot stepped on, rolled up and squished his "LIN 17" foam finger.
His father did most of the talking in the Skype chat with Lin -- but there was that same foam finger, clutched in the arms of shy Naim.
"You need to still root for them, 'cause they're gonna be a great team with or without me, alright?" Lin told the youngster. "So you have to keep going to their games and watching them, they'll be really good."
