WATCH: Giants Eli, Coughlin And Reese Answer ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A day after the Jets were doused by members of the Cortlandville Fire Department, the Giants took their turns answering the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, albeit in a bit more subtle fashion.
General manager Jerry Reese, head coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning participated following practice in East Rutherford, N.J., and then offered nominations of their own.
As for practice itself, it was a day for the wide receivers as Victor Cruz and 2014 first round draft pick Odell Beckham Jr. had strong days.
Cruz, who is coming off a disappointing season that saw him fail to reach 1,000 yards for the first time in his three NFL seasons, consistently got the better of Walter Thurmond, the slot corner who signed with the Giants after winning the Super Bowl last season with the Seattle Seahawks.
Also encouraging was the play of Beckham, who missed a lot of practice to begin camp due to a troublesome hamstring. On Tuesday he looked like he did during his career at LSU, including one stellar touchdown grab on a pass from Ryan Nassib. Coughlin later shed some light on when Beckham will see game action.
The Giants travel to Indianapolis on Saturday, where they will likely see wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who bolted Big Blue for the Colts during free agency.
