2 Sought In Washington Heights Robbery, Pistol-Whipping

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching late Tuesday for two suspects who robbed a man and an 87-year-old woman, and pistol-whipped the younger man, in Washington Heights last month.

The suspects knocked on a door on West 164th Street around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, police said. The older woman answered the door, and the suspects pushed their way in, police said.

One of the suspects went into a rear bedroom where he struck the man, 21, in the head with a gun and tied him up, police said.

The suspects made off with an undetermined amount of cash and ran off, police said. The male victim declined medical attention at the scene.

One of the suspects was described as a black male in his mid-20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds. The other was described as a Hispanic male, also in his mid-20s, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.

Police have released surveillance photos and video.
