Walcott said he's excited to officially start on Monday even though he's already made steps to start a little sooner.
"I think the first priority for me is to keep doing what I'm doing right now, really talking to our students and really talking to the people out there and really focused on showcasing all the outstanding schools that are out there," Walcott said.
Walcott has a reputation for having a mellow laid back personality and says he has no intention of letting that change.
"There's no reason not to. My style is the way I am and I will not change that at all," he said. "Obviously, there are tough issues that we have to address. You really have to stay focused and stay determined and have a plan."
