Vote Postponed In Nassau Police Precinct Closure Plan; Union Chief Optimistic
MINEOLA, NY (CBSNewYork) - A vote scheduled for today on Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano's plan to close four of the eight police precincts has been postponed until next week.

Aything can happen, says police union president James Carver about the round the clock negotiations over a the controversial police precinct realignment plan, but he is being tight lipped.
"I think there's a lot of ideas that were floated around over the weekend and there's nothing solid enough to comment at this time," Carver told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs on Monday.
Carver says the discussions have been fruitful, who is against the plan to downsize four police precincts.
Though he refused to characterize the nature of negotiations, the union leader hints at optimism.
"I think when the two sides are talking, I think that's always a good sign," he said.
