'Voice' Coaches Blake Shelton And Cee-Lo Green Each Have Christmas Albums This Year
Great minds think alike, you might say.
At least, you might say that if you were Blake Shelton or Cee-Lo Green. Both artists (who also both happen to be coaches on The Voice) are vying for the holiday prize for Most Christmas Spirit, because both have released Christmas albums this year.
"I didn't know Cee Lo was doing a Chistmas album," Blake Shelton told CBS Local in a recent interview, "until I was doing an interview on the set of The Voice one day," and the person who was conducting the interview brought it up.
"He didn't tell me he was doing a Christmas album," said Blake; but then, "he probably didn't know I was doing one, either."
Cee Lo's album CeeLo's Magic Moment was released Oct. 26. His album includes collaborations with Rod Stewart, Christina Aguilera, Straight No Chaser, Trombone Shorty and The Muppets.
Blake's album Cheers, It's Christmas hit stores on Oct. 2 and features such special guests as Michael Buble, Reba, and Dorothy Shackleford, who also happens to be Blake's mother.
Among the cuts on Cee Lo's album is a cover of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," which Blake said was a song in particular that he couldn't wait to hear.
"That's so Cee Lo," he said. "It's something I would never have thought of. That's why I love the guy so much."
My heart is still pounding after my date last night... I may be in love!!! twitter.com/blakeshelton/s…
