Village Of Sleepy Hollow Seeing Boost In Tourism
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A sleepy village in Westchester County is getting a tourism boost because of a classic short story and a new TV show based on the work.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, tours at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery have been packed in recent weeks, with many visitors heading for one site in particular.
"The grave of Washington Irving himself, the author of 'The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow,'" cemetery superintendent Jim Logan told Haskell.

The book was written nearly 200 years ago.
Tourists have been flocking to the namesake town in part because of the TV show "Sleepy Hollow," Haskell reported.
"The money from the tours funds restoration work," Logan said.
"Well certainly, the interest is up," village administrator Anthony Giaccio said. "I think it brings a lot of community spirit but it's also good for local businesses."
After the show airs, traffic on the village's website spikes, Haskell reported.
"It's very historical and it's interesting," tourist Donna Sepe said.
